Yayy.....I am at the beach

What's the best way to cool off the exam fever? A trip to the ice cream parlour. Lame jokes aside. The exams are over so it is time to brace the summer heat (sort of) and enjoy. Today me and my girl friends went out for a farewell/pre-birthday/thank-goodness-it-is-holiday-finally party for Alyssa and Farhana. Rendezvous point: TCBY Westdale.

Living under one roof, me and Yash had tough time hiding the plans from Alyssa. Any whispering between the two out of the three housemates might seem like a suspicous assasination complot. Moreover, due to "absent-mindedness ", I completely forgot to recharge the battery of my trusted DSC-T2 (no, it is not DSLR. I just can't be trusted with cameras) the night before. My camera's battery failed me before we went to TCBY in Westdale. So the only pictures I have for the day are the ones I took at home.

What a sight it was in TCBY. 7 girls wearing 'lei's and flowers, tiara and a 'Princess' sash,eating ice-cream (getting hyper after that). The passer-bys might just shrugged us off as partying students. Or do they? Still, it was a wonderful sunny day for everyone. So enjoy your summer girls! And Happy Pre-Birthday to Alyssa and Farhana. Safe journey for those who are home-bound :).

And another one...

Those of you, who know me well, might remember my previous (unsuccesful) attempts at blogging. I found difficulties in discplining myself to update the blog. Being constantly swamped with academic essays made blogging (which is sort of quasi-essaying) appeared...undesirable. Instead, I found refuge in stalking my friends' profiles in Facebook. The search for new hobbies for my summer break rekindles me with blogging. Having crossed out photography, gaming, drawing, trekking, mowing, curling, wire-taping, public policy drafting, I am finally down with two choices : blogging and cooking.

So why "Darling Redefined"? First, it has something to do with my name so you that folks know who the author is. Second, the Cambridge Online Dictionary defines "darling" as: a person who is very much loved or liked, an old-fashioned way to express love. While those definitions originate from Cambridge, Urban Dictionary offers its own "definition" of "darling" : a person you really appreciate, could be a great friend or soon-to-be romantic partner. An old hag found smoking pot in parking lot. Yet, I may not be a great friend nor loved by everyone. I am nobody's soon-to-be romantic partner because I am already someone's romantic partner. And obviously, not an old hag who smokes pot. So the blog will be about an outlook of life by a different "Darling". It is "Darling" as redefined by a life she is going through. It sounds self-centric but I will try to make it less so :P

So, that's my brief welcoming note. the next step is to train myself to constantly update my blog. Being literally "living" in Facebook, there should be no excuse to not being able to post my two cents every now and then. Instead of Facebook stalking, I could now go blog-hopping and stalk your blogs *evil grin*.
